Hounds blank Street Cats

ALPENA — Bryce Goulah got his second win of the season — all within the last week — as the Traverse City Hounds shut out the Alpena Street Cats 6-0 on Friday in Alpena.

Goulah stopped all 25 shots he faced in the win.

After a slow start by the Hounds (23-3-1-2), they came alive with five goals in the second period.

Cam Fisher, Jacob Gillis, Tyler Thirlby, Patrick Rogowski and Kevin Miloser each netted the second period goals. Josh Smith had the other Traverse City goal, coming early in the first period. Kenneth Simmons Jr. and Bobby Schumacher each had two assists for the Hounds. Other assists went to Miloser, Garrett Cebalt, Alex Devries, Zach Early, Gillis and Fisher.

Aleksandr Shishkin made 21 saves in goal for Alpena (13-12-0-0).

The two teams meet again at 7 p.m. tonight at Centre ICE in Traverse City.
