Northwest Michigan residents needing help meeting basic emergency needs will benefit from a $5,000 contribution to The Salvation Army of Traverse City's PeopleCare program.

The contribution is part of a recent sweepstakes that encouraged customers to set up recurring payments on their MasterCard accounts to pay their Consumers Energy monthly bills.

Living Light Massage and Wellness Center recently celebrated its fifth anniversary.

The business is open seven days a week and offers a wide variety of massage therapies. Over the past five years, it has seen steady growth in demand and has increased its staff of massage therapists from 10 to 15.
