Talk on grief, aging

Traverse City — Gerald Micketti will give seminars on grief and aging at the Village at Bay Ridge.

Micketti will discuss grief on Tuesday, Nov. 6, at 11 a.m. in the East Building and 1 p.m. in the West Building. On Tuesday, Nov. 13, Micketti will talk about the aging process at 11 a.m. in the East Building and 1 p.m. in the West Building.

The Village at Bay Ridge is located at 3850 Scenic Ridge, off Silver Lake Road. For details or reservations for either talk, call 932-9455.

Medicare seminar

Traverse City — In an effort to help seniors know about all of their options and changes to Medicare, the Grand Traverse County Senior Center Network has scheduled a Medicare seminar.

The seminar will be Wednesday, Nov. 7, at 3 p.m. at the Senior Center Network building, 801 E. Front St. This will be an educational seminar only. No specific plans or sales material will be handed out. The public is welcome.

Home funerals

Traverse City — The public is invited to a presentation on home funerals and green burials on Saturday, Nov. 10.

The program from 1 to 3:30 p.m. will be held at the Boardman River Nature Center, 1450 Cass Road. Guest speakers include Merilynne Rush, a home funeral guide, board member of the National Home Funeral Alliance, RN, and midwife; Vaughn Seavolt, manager/owner of Life Story Funeral Home; and Alison Heins, president of the Funeral Consumers Information Society.

Goodwill drive

Traverse City — The Goodwill Inn Fall Food Drive will accept donations from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday and Friday, Nov. 8-9, and 8 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, at Oleson's Plaza East, 1100 E. Hammond Road. For details, visit www.goodwillnmi.org/news.
