Swine flu immunization clinics planned

Swine flu immunizations at Traverse City West and East middle schools planned for next week are canceled after a vaccine shipment was delayed.

About 2,000 Grand Traverse County residents have been immunized at school and public clinics since Oct. 24.

The following clinics for students are planned:

-- Monday: Eastern Elementary, 3:30 p.m. to 6 p.m.

-- Tuesday: Kingsley High School, noon to 2 p.m.; all other Kingsley schools, 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.; Old Mission Elementary, 3:30 p.m. to 6 p.m.

-- Thursday: Traverse Heights Elementary, 3:30 p.m. to 6 p.m.

About 1,900 people in Benzie and Leelanau counties have been vaccinated at school and community clinics, health officer Bill Crawford said.

Tentative clinics in the two counties include:

-- Tuesday: Frankfort Elementary, 3 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

-- Wednesday: Glen Lake Community Schools, 3:15 p.m. to 6 p.m.

-- Thursday: Benzie Central High School, 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
