TC Alliance earn berth in finals

GRAND RAPIDS -- The Traverse City Alliance earned a spot in next weekend's Division 2 rugby state championship game with a pair of victories.

The Alliance defeated Perrysburg 15-0 to open the day, getting two tries from Jared Preston and one by Matt Benson.

The team then topped St. Clair Shores Lakeview 10-3, as Gabe Gallagher and Benson scored tries.

The state finals are Saturday at Davenport University in Grand Rapids. Grand Blanc will be the opposition.
