ALLENDALE — Traverse City Central shot a 382 on Friday and is tied for ninth place at the Division 2 state finals at Grand Valley State's The Meadows.
Play concludes today.
Muskegon Mona Shores leads the D-2 field at 342, followed by Battle Creek Lakeview (354) and Okemos (358). BC Lakeview's Danielle Little is the overnight medalist at 78.
TC Central senior Courtney Dye is in contention for the state title. She shot 83 and is tied for sixth, just five shots off Little for the lead.
Other Trojan scores on Friday included Amelia Pezzetti with a 93, Ally Schultz and Zoe Sobeck each shot 103 while Abby Palisin had a 108.
"Everyone played in the same conditions, but it was brutal," TC Central coach Lois McManus said. "Thank goodness the wind didn't blow. It was cold, wet and miserable. There were a couple of fairways where you could move it to find less water, but there was no way to find relief with no water."
In Division 1 at Michigan State's Forest Akers East, TC West's Taylor Kehoe is competing as an individual and shot an 88. Kelsey Murphy from Plymouth leads with a 73.
Division 4 is playing on MSU's Forest Akers West. Grayling is ninth at 432 while Glen Lake is 13th with 459. Lansing Catholic leads at 344.
The Vikings had a 102 from Whitney Schans, 107 from Angie Rouston, 111 from Logan Miller and 112 from Natalie Woodley.
The Lakers, playing in their first state final, had a 107 from Nicole Pace, 108 from Skylar Gleason, 116 from Madison Hill, 128 from Melanie Kulanda and 130 from Breanna Flores.
