LELAND — Suttons Bay topped Leland 59-49 in Northwest Conference action to set up a first-place battle Saturday night with Frankfort.
The Norse and Panthers both enter the make-up game with unblemished NWC records.
Suttons Bay (4-1, 3-0 NWC) remained perfect in the league behind Aaron Orban’s 20 points and 20 rebounds Thursday. Logan Mikesell had 12 points.
Austin Fellows led Leland (3-5, 1-3 NWC) with 14 points, while Cam Stowe added 10 and Carson Poirier nine.
Senior Tyler Newell grabbed the rebounds and dished out assists, and four underclassmen did most of the scoring as Kingsley notched a 67-30 Northwest Conference victory over Mesick.
Newell finished with six points, 14 rebounds and 13 assists. Kingsley (3-4, 1-3 NWC) sophomores Hunter Scott, Tyler Case and Stacy Almquist scored 15, 14 and 12 points, respectively, while freshman Nathan Schaar scored 11.
Buckley was led by Michael Rosek and Bryce Guernsey with eight points each.
The Stags host McBain next Tuesday.
Benzie Central 63
Trevor Witkop had 21 points and Ismael Halaweh added 19 as Benzie Central picked up a 63-54 Northwest Conference victory over Mesick.
Zane Brooks gave the Huskies (3-4, 3-1 Northwest) a third double figure scorer with 10.
Leading Mesick were Jordan Calhoun with 20 and Billy Bardocz with 15.
Benzie, which led 31-26 at the half, hosts Glen Lake on Wednesday.
Gaylord St. Mary 44
James Schrader busted loose for 29 points to lead Bellaire to a 61-44 Ski Valley Conference victory over Gaylord St. Mary.
Schrader hit 10 of 11 free throws among his 29 points.
Denny Hall added 20 points, four assists and seven rebounds, knocking down all eight of his shots from the charity stripe.
The Eagles (7-0, 4-0 SVC) host Pellston on Tuesday.
Charles Strehl had 20 points for the Snowbirds.
TC Christian 71
Four players scored in double figures as Traverse City Christian topped Northport 71-22 in Cherryland Conference play.
Kris Crosby had 13 points, Kevin Mannes and Brad Benson 11 each and David Bump had 10. The Sabres (4-3) have won four straight.
Jacob Brown scored 11 points to lead the Wildcats, who host Grand Traverse Academy on Tuesday.

GT Academy 31
Seth Foust and John Ehnis each scored a dozen points to lead the Traverse City Bulldogs to a 41-31 victory over Grand Traverse Academy.
Tim Frasier and Hunter Svek scored eight each for GT Academy, which travels Tuesday to Northport.
Bear Lake 49
Baldwin handed Bear Lake its first setback of the season with a 54-49 Western Michigan D League outcome.
Riley Merrill led the Lakers (5-1, 5-1 WMD) with 15 points, 14 rebounds and three blocks, while Bryson Waller added nine points and eight rebounds and Cody Brown had nine points, three steals and three assists.
Bear Lake hosts Suttons Bay on Monday.
Forest Area 37
Brandon Dingman broke the career 1,000-point mark as Mancelona notched a 47-37 Ski Valley Conference victory over Forest Area.
Dingman scored 25 points in the victory, which improves the Ironmen to 6-2 overall and 4-1 in SVC play.
Griffin Borst added 13 points for Mancelona.

Mark Laucky led Traverse City St. Francis to a 46-34 junior varsity victory.
Laucky scored 13 points for the Gladiators (4-2), while Connor McGee had 11 and Gabe Callery 10.
Karrah Baker’s double-double led Manton to a 45-26 Highland Conference victory over Marion.
Baker had 18 points and 13 rebounds.
Olivia Kunkel added 10 points and six rebounds for the Rangers (4-5, 1-4 HC), who travel Saturday to Evart for a make-up game.

Traverse City St. Francis went on a 10-2 run to end the game and come out with a 30-22 junior varsity victory over Elk Rapids.
Alayna Anderson led the Gladiators (5-5) with 11 points, including a pair of 3-pointers in the fourth-quarter run.
Alexa Wagner led the Elks with 16 points.
