LAKE LEELANAU — Libby Munoz and Caitlin McKee led Leland to a 24-12 halftime lead en route to a 45-33 win over Lake Leelanau St. Mary’s.
Munoz had 18 points and six steals while McKee added 12 points for the 2-0 Comets. Maddie Trumbull contributed eight points and 15 rebounds.
For St. Mary’s, which scored 17 points in the fourth quarter, Lindsey Boone netted 12 points and Mary Rexroat eight. Rachael Schaub pulled down seven rebounds.
The Eagles (0-2) travel Friday to Manistee Catholic. Leland is at East Jordan on Wednesday.

Julie Nieman sank a free throw with 10 seconds left to give Johannesburg-Lewiston a 55-54 non-conference victory over East Jordan.
Nieman led the Cradinals (3-0, 1-0 Ski Valley) with 15 points. Madison Showerman added 13 points, eight rebounds and five steals, while Brittany Cherwinski had 10 points, seven boards and three steals and Kelsey Cherwinski added five assists and four steals.
Paige Poindexter led East Jordan with 16 points and Lindsay Schroeder had 13.
Joburg host Forest Area on Friday in a return to league action.
Charlevoix ran out to a 27-13 halftime lead and went on to a 54-34 non-conference win over Bellaire.
Madeline Boss put up 17 points, 12 rebounds and seven steals. Courtney Putman had nine points, Gabby Gray seven points and six assists and Alexis Tribfelner six points and six rebounds.
Leighton Koepke paced Bellaire with 12 points.
The Rayders (2-0) host Gaylord today in their home opener.

Grayling improved to 3-0 with a 57-34 non-league win over Houghton Lake.
Cierra Prosser and Sam Denno led the Vikings with 12 points apiece. Erica Umlor and Rachel Money added nine points.
