TRAVERSE CITY — Ryan Schiller threw a no-hitter as TC Central defeated Benzie Central 15-0 in a three-inning softball doubleheader opener.
Schiller walked one and struck out five in the win. The Trojans (7-9) completed the sweep with a 4-1 win in the second game.
Tiffany Taylor was 3-for-3 with three runs and an RBI in the opener. Miranda Winowiecki added two hits, two runs and two RBIs.
In the second game Maddy Duensing got the win, striking out four and allowing four hits. She also helped her cause with three hits, a run and an RBI. Dana Dyer added two hits, and Jessica Budz and Lexie Mallery added hits.
The Trojans play in the Escanaba Invitational on Saturday.

Kirsten Colmus scored on an infield error in the first inning and that proved to be the only run St. Francis needed in a 1-0 softball victory over Gaylord to open a doubleheader. The Gladiators won the second game 10-0.
Gabby Morgan was the winning pitcher in the opener, striking out six and giving up four hits. The Blue Devils' biggest threat to score came in the first inning as Gaylord loaded the bases with two outs, but St. Francis came out of it unscathed as right fielder Olivia Hardy made a diving catch of a line drive.
In the second game Bailey Johnson threw a one-hitter, striking out five. She also doubled among three hits and had an RBI. Abbey Coger added two hits and three RBIs, Cailin Miller had two hits and two runs and Megan Knudsen had a hit, scored twice and drove in two.
The Gladiators (13-6) are in Mount Pleasant for a tournament on Saturday.
