Petoskey sweeps Division 2 ski finals

MARQUETTE — Petoskey’s boys and girls skied to Division 2 state championships on Monday at Marquette Mountain.

It was the third consecutive state title for the Northmen in the boys division. Helping the cause was Gunner Lundteigen, who won the slalom in 1:19.22.

Petoskey’s girls came back to win the meet with a strong showing in the afternoon giant slalom. The Northmen placed all four counters in the top 14 in the afternoon. Bloomfield Hills Andover led after the morning slalom by a point.

St. Francis freshman Carlee McCardel was the state champion in the giant slalom with a time of 1:02.24.
