From staff reports

ALPENA — Donny Cizek threw for two touchdowns, and ran for a third, while the Traverse City West defense limited Alpena to 110 total yards Friday night en route to a resounding 42-0 Big North Conference win.

It was 28-0 at half.

Cizek, who was 9 of 16 for 145 yards in the air, tossed touchdown passes of 11 yards to Dustin Tucker and 25 yards to Grant Balino. He also scampered 19 yards for a score.

Griffin Forrester, who rushed for 111 yards on 11 carries, added a 24-yard touchdown run. He had 78 yards on six first-quarter attempts alone. Matt Kirkey tallied from three yards and Noah Malaski nine. Zach Gloshen kicked six extra points.

The Titans ended with 361 total yards.

Meanwhile, the Titans defense stopped the Wildcats cold. Alpena rushed for 47 yards, most on a late drive, and passed for 63.

Storm Eagle led the defense with nine tackles. Matt Lowe and Jordan Stevenson were in on seven each. Ryan Drake and Alex Hogarth added sacks, while Georden Carter, Jake Guyon and Tyler Johnson had interceptions.

"We did it without a lot of kids who are banged up," West coach Tim Wooer said. "We had six starters out. Hopefully, we'll get a few of those kids back next week."

The Titans (3-1, 2-0 Big North) host 4-0 Cadillac next Friday in a battle of BNC unbeatens.
