TRAVERSE CITY — Kiley Kreple scored a pair of goals, including one off a penalty kick, as Traverse City West defeated Cadillac 4-2 in a girls soccer match on Saturday at the Coast Guard Fields.
Runa Hafnor and Lexi Moyer also netted goals for the Titans, who fell behind 1-0 but scored the next four goals to seize control of the game. Mikenna Ray had an assist on Hafnor’s goal.
Maggie Troost made nine saves for West (2-0, 2-0 Big North).
The Titans lost 3-1 in the junior varsity game. Morgan Norris had the West goal with an assist to Allison Bridges. Leah Klassen was in goal.
TC West faces rival TC Central on Tuesday at the Coast Guard Fields. Junior varsity starts at 5 p.m. and the varsity will follow at 7 p.m.
TC Central 1
Midland broke a 1-1 tie with two goals in the last 15 minutes to defeat Traverse City Central 3-1.
Jennifer Rose had Central’s goal with 20 minutes left in the game. Jalyna Cisneros assisted on the goal.
Abby Weckler made five saves in goal for the Trojans (1-2). Sierra Fraser and Abigail Stanton led the Central defense on the day.
Central’s junior varsity lost 4-0. Stevie Herbers was in goal for the Trojans and Kacie McGillivary played solid defense.
Benzie Central 10
Mason Co. Eastern 2
Rebekka Loekken and Elisabeth Lindseth combined for seven goals as Benzie Central beat Mason County Eastern 10-2 in girls soccer on Saturday.
Loekken and Lindseth each had two goals in the first half alone as the Huskies raced out to a 7-1 lead at the half. Loekken also chipped in with three assists.
Meghan Cubit had a goal and two assists, Samantha Bennett had a goal and an assist, Kira Daigger scored a goal and Megan Cota had an assist.
Elizabeth Putney was the winning keeper, facing 13 shots. Benzie (1-1) put 23 shots on goal.
