In a battle of the last two volleyball teams who were undefeated in Northwest Conference play, Kingsley swept a match from Leland, 25-20, 25-20, 28-26, at Leland High School.
Serving was a key to the Stags’ victory as they went 77-for-77 on the night, including an 18-for-18 performance from Arianna Hart, a 17-for-17 performance from Alysia Folkersma, a 14-for-14 showing from Autumn Goggin, an 11-for-11 from Leah Hall, a 9-for-9 from Lilly Travis and 8-for-8 from Lindsey Weber.
Folkersma also had three kills, two blocks and three aces; Goggin chipped in 10 kills and 14 digs; Kelsey Graham had four kills and three digs; Hall had seven kills, four blocks and 29 assists; Travis contributed 13 kills and 23 digs; Weber added 10 digs; Molly Franke had two kills; and Hart six digs.
Leading Leland on the court were: Noa Yaakoby (23 kills, seven digs), Maddie Trumball (12 kills), Whitney Schaub (20 digs), Jessica Fleis (40 assists, nine digs) and Miranda Harrison (11 digs).
The Stags improve to 30-5-5 overall, 4-0 in the Northwest, while the Comets dropped to 13-9-8 overall, 3-1 in the Northwest.
Glen Lake 0
Mesick took down Glen Lake in three straight games, winning 25-22, 26-24, 25-20.
For Mesick, Maddi Clock had eight kills, Hailey Maksymowski added six kills, eight digs and two aces, Drew Maksymowski chipped in with 16 assists and Alyssa Clock had four aces and was credited with exceptional defense.
The Bulldogs (2-2 Northwest) host Marion on Thursday.
Forest Area 3
Forest Area bounced back from a loss in Game 1 to take a Ski Valley Conference match from Mancelona, 20-25, 25-17, 25-23, 25-17.
Leaders for the Warriors (13-14-4, 3-2 Ski Valley) were: Tabitha Cecil (26 kills, six blocks), Dani Johne (20 assists, 12 digs), Alyssa Birgy (17 digs) and Maddy Nagy (outstanding floor play).
Gaylord St. Mary 0
Bellaire handled Gaylord St. Mary in posting a 3-0 victory in Ski Valley Conference volleyball action, winning 25-14, 25-19, 25-20.
Brandy O’Neal went 100 percent serving and had nine kills; Samantha Niepoth had three aces and 10 digs; Tiffany Clovis had 29 digs; Chloe Niepoth had 19 digs and five kills; and Renee LaLone had five kills.
Benzie Central 3
Autumn Hagelstein had eight kills, five aces and went 7-for-7 serving as Benzie Central beat Buckley 25-10, 25-8, 25-18.
Other top performers for the Huskies were Molly Lehn, who had 10 assists, five aces and two kills, and Manon Lutzke, who had four kills and four aces.
Suttons Bay 3
Suttons Bay swept a Northwest Conference match against Frankfort, 25-17, 25-7, 25-21.
Leading the Norse to the win were: Chloe Kulanda (two kills); Delaney Kaufman (10-for-10 serving, seven kills, two digs); Jessica Hunt (9-for-12 serving, four aces, seven kills); Rachel Pasche (11-for-15 serving, five aces, three kills, three digs); Kira Vezina (10-for-12 serving, three aces, three kills, one assist, five digs); Jayne McFarland (11-for-11 serving, two aces, one kill, 21 assists, one dig); and Veronica Anderson (11-for-11 serving, four aces, three kills, one assist, one dig).

TC Christian 2
Northport (7-16) earned a hard-fought 3-2 win over Traverse City Christian in a back-and-forth contest, 25-27, 25-20, 17-25, 25-21, 18-16.
Leading the way in the Wildcats’ victory were: Megan Popp (one dig, 19 assists, seven kills, five aces); Mariah Kalchik (five digs, five assists, 16 kills, five blocks, two aces); Ashley Pino (one dig, two assists, six kills, one ace); and Autumn Huck (seven digs, three kills).
Glen Lake 2
Riley Scanlon and Reiss Skrocki netted goals as Glen Lake edged Buckley 2-1.
Dominique Kraskie scored for Buckley.
The Lakers (6-5-1) are at Northport on Thursday.
TC Central 0
Petoskey broke open a game that was 1-0 at the half with a pair of second-half goals in beating Traverse City Central 3-0.
The Northmen made it a two-score game midway through the second half, then added a goal with minutes remaining as Central was trying to push up to create offense and got caught off-guard.
Carl Gardner was in net for the Trojans and made seven saves.
Central (10-8-2, 8-2 Big North) heads to Gaylord on Thursday.
TC West 2
Nico Ragel-Wilson had a goal in the first half and Christien Geiger added a second-half goal as Traverse City West blanked Gaylord 2-0.
Cam Sipple and Donovan Michael added assists for the Titans (11-5-2, 9-0 Big North).
Justin Kraft earned the shutout in net for West, which travels to Cadillac on Thursday.
Harbor Light 2
Bellaire clinched first place in the North Division of the Northern Michigan Soccer League with a 7-2 win over Harbor Light.
Hunter Rowe and Drew Emery each had two goals for the Eagles, who staked out a 4-0 halftime lead. Nic Underwood, Adam Underwood and Denny Hall also scored for Bellaire (15-1, 9-0). Assists went to Adam Underwood, Nic Underwood, Emery and Ryan Cybulla. Adam Crandall made six saves for Bellaire.
Harbor Light got its goals from Caleb Wendt and Kirk Muller.
Suttons Bay 0
Leland scored three second-half goals to snap a scoreless tie and knock off Suttons Bay 3-0.
Cam Stowe scored 44 seconds into the second half for the Comets, and Leland got two late goals from Henrik Ohr to cap off the win. Stowe and Will Saffell recorded assists.
The Comets (13-2-1, 7-0 Northwest) outshot the Norsemen 21-3, with much of that difference credited to the back four of Austin Fellows, Jamie Brubaker, Clarke Morgan and Gerardo Vasquez.
Aaron Orban had a standout night in goal for Suttons Bay, keeping the Norsemen in the game with some big saves.
TC Central 5
A.J. Samba recorded two goals and an assist as the Traverse City Central junior varsity boys soccer team defeated Petoskey 5-3.
Lars Hornburg added a goal and an assist, while Jordan Birdsey and Scott May also found the back of the net for Central (11-2-1).
Jack Stevenson and Jorge Antonio shared keeper duties and combined to make five saves for the Trojans, who are at Gaylord on Thursday.
