Glen Lake never trailed and held on in the final seconds to pull out a tight 42-40 girls basketball victory over Kingsley in a Northwest Conference matchup on Wednesday.
The Stags (3-2, 1-1 Northwest) managed to tie the contest with two minutes to play and had a chance to tie it again with four seconds left, but couldn’t convert at the foul line.
Jessica Lee had 13 points and 12 rebounds for Glen Lake (3-3, 2-0) and Jordan Peplinski added 11 points, eight rebounds and four steals.
Kingsley’s Autumn Goggin led all scorers with 25 points and grabbed seven rebounds.
Frankfort outscored Leland 21-2 in the second quarter to down the Comets 66-28.
McKenna Kelly scored 20 points, Madison Stefanski had 12 points and Shayla Soto added eight points, seven rebounds and six steals for the Panthers (5-0).
Libby Munoz had 17 points and 10 rebounds for Leland (4-2).

GT Academy 35
Lake Leelanau St. Mary won its Cherryland Conference opener after topping Grand Traverse Academy 58-35.
Rachael Schaub led the Eagles (2-3) with 20 points and 12 boards. Christina Amalfitano added 10 points, Abbie Thon had nine points and Mary Rexroat chipped in with eight points.
Tori Corwin led Grand Traverse Academy with 12 points.
TC St. Francis 65
The St. Francis inside freshman combination of Juliana Phillips and Sarah Carney contributed big offensively as St. Francis routed Grayling 65-38.
Phillips had 20 points and Carney added 16 points to lead the Gladiators (5-1, 2-0 Lake Michigan). Rachel Money and Mikayla Cragg each had nine points for the Vikings.
Hailey Eames scored 11 points and Emma Presser had 10 as Grayling edged St. Francis in the junior varsity game, 37-36, in overtime.
Leading St. Francis (3-3) was Colleen LaBonte with 17 points and Abby Brodeur with eight points.
St. Francis travels to Harbor Springs on Friday.
