Leland on to regional final

BEAR LAKE — Leland dropped its first game of the postseason on Tuesday, but still came away with a win over Bellaire in the Class D regional semifinal at Bear Lake.

The Comets (43-10-4) won 25-14, 24-25, 25-22, 25-22 to advance to Thursday championship game against Brethren.

"Bellaire played very well and put the ball where we weren't regularly," Leland coach Laurie Glass said.

Brooke Olesnavage led Leland with 24 kills, 17 digs and three aces. Caitlin McKee had five aces, 28 assists and three digs, Andrea Hunt had eight kills and 14 digs, Noa Yaakoby had three aces and nine kills while Maggie Osorio had 15 digs.
