BENZONIA -- Benzie Central earned its first-ever trip to the district finals with a win over Manistee in the Class B bracket the Huskies host.
Benzie won the match 25-16, 25-13, 25-22.
The Huskies (55-11-5) will play Cadillac -- the team that has knocked them out of districts the last two years -- on Friday at home.
In Wednesday's victory, the Huskies were led by the efforts of Sara Thurkettle (15 kills, four digs, three aces), Haeley Melton (nine kills, six digs, five aces), Corrie Noah (six kills, five digs), Jenna Scheele (three kills, three digs, one ace) and Raenee Harig (31 assists, three digs).

Cadillac ended Kingsley's strong season with a 25-19, 25-15, 25-13 setback in the district semifinals.
The Stags were led by Hannah Bach (10 kills, three blocks), Sam Zubalik (eight kills, 14 digs), Erica Berridge (17 assists, 11 digs), Katie Nickerson (eight digs, 8-for-8 serving) and floor games by Lauren Leach and Chelsea Edgcombe.
The six seniors led Kingsley (55-7-6) to back-to-back 50-win seasons and league crowns and nine tournament titles in that two-year span.
Class C at East Jordan

Charlevoix moved into the district final today with a win over the tournament host, beating East Jordan 25-14, 25-9, 25-15.
The Rayders (40-18-2) were led by Jenna Way (25 assists, seven kills, five blocks), Taylor Storm (11 digs, 100 percent serve reception), Allison Hankins (10 kills), Katie Mays (nine kills) and Sarah Potter (five kills, five aces).

Leland will take on Northport in Friday's district title match after topping Grand Traverse Academy in straight sets.
The Comets (21-26-1) topped GT Academy 25-7, 25-18, 25-23. Top performancers for Leland were Elizabeth McKee (nine kills, one ace), Sarah Ruszel (nine kills, five digs, four aces), Sammy Nowak (nine kills), Tantzi Snyder (four kills, three digs, two blocks, 1 ace), Hannah Schaub (24 assists, two aces, one kill) and Melissa Laredo (nine digs).
Class D at Frankfort
Onekama on to finals; Frankfort falls to MCE
Onekama set up a district finals matchup with Mason County Eastern, as the Portagers defeated Manistee Catholic Central 25-19-, 25-15, 25-18 in their district semifinal.
Mason Country Eastern topped district host Frankfort 25-13, 25-13, 25-11.
The finals are today at 7 p.m. in Frankfort.
