FIFE LAKE -- Dave Hall racked up his 500th career coaching win as Kingsley won the Forest Area Invitational, defeating the hosts in the final.
The Stags downed Forest Area 25-21, 25-18 in the title game, earning Hall his 501st victory.
"It was kind of nice to get that behind me and focus on districts," Hall said.
The Stags (54-6-6) were 5-0-2 on the day, splitting with Central Lake and Forest Area in pool play and sweeping Hillman, Johannesburg-Lewiston, Traverse City Christian and Harbor Light.
Kingsley travels to Benzie Central on Tuesday to face Ludington in districts.
The Stags were led by Hannah Bach (61 kills, 11 blocks), Sam Zubalik (39 kills, 46 digs, four blocks), Lauren Leach (29 kills, 11 blocks, 15 digs) and Erica Berridge (142 assists, seven aces, 39-39 serving). Chelsea Edgcombe, Katie Nickerson and Emily Fasel were each perfect serving for the day and had good floor games.
Forest Area finished 4-1-2 on the day to move to 41-10-6 on the season. That beat the previous school record of 40 wins in a year.
The Warriors beat TC Christian (25-16, 25-16), Joburg (25-16, 25-13), Hillman (25-17, 25-17) and Harbor Light (25-14, 25-14) while splitting with Central Lake (25-14, 14-25).
Katie Johnson had 82 assists for Forest Area, Savannah Daniels had 10 kills and 13 blocks, Chelsea Strine had 40 kills and 30 digs, Ashley Czuk had 19 kills and 10 blocks, Mae Johnson added 53 kills and 22 digs, Marissa Ingersoll had 36 digs and seven aces while Camille Tornow had 29 digs and eight aces.
