Volleyball Roundup: Cadillac sweeps quad

Kingsley picks up three wins at Reed City

SUTTONS BAY -- Cadillac swept through the Suttons Bay quad on Thursday, but the host Norse also had a strong showing with a 2-1 record.

Suttons Bay lost the opener to the Vikings, 25-15, 25-9, but came back with a 22-25, 25-21, 15-10 win over Traverse City St. Francis and a 25-19, 25-17 victory over Leland.

Hildi Forton had 42 assists, six aces and seven digs for Suttons Bay, Kira Shively was 16-for-16 serving with seven kills, two blocks and six digs, Angela Patterson was 17-for-17 serving with an ace and seven kills, Emily Send had nine kills and 10 digs, Hannah Olson had 11 kills and 10 digs while Justine Sourie had 10 kills and 24 digs.

Leland lost to Cadillac 25-12, 25-11 but beat St. Francis 25-17, 25-21.

The Comets (20-26-1) had 19 kills and 13 digs from Sarah Ruszel, 13 kills and four aces from Elizabeth McKee, nine kills and two blocks from Sammy Nowak, 44 assists and five aces from Hanna Schaub, seven kills from Tantzi Snyder and 13 digs from Melissa Loredo.

St. Francis (27-10) was 0-3 on the day after a 25-7, 25-13 loss to Cadillac.

The Glads had 10 kills, two blocks and eight digs from Abby Clear, 18 digs, 10 kills, two blocks and seven aces from Bailey Ray, three kills, 32 assists, five aces and 10 digs from Emily Buckel, as well as seven kills each from Vanessa Fisher and Jamie Bott.

Kingsley sweeps Reed City quad

Kingsley picked up three wins at the Reed City quad.

The Stags (49-6-4) beat Remus Chippewa Hills 25-14, 21-25, 15-6, White Cloud 25-11, 25-19 and host Reed City 25-10, 25-16.

Kingsley had 32 kills and nine blocks from Hannah Bach, Sam Zubalik added 13 kills, nine aces and 17 digs, Chelsea Edgcombe had seven kills, 12 digs and three blocks, Lauren Leach had 12 kills, Katie Nickerson had 17 digs whil Erica Berridge was 34-for-34 serving with 51 assists and 15 digs.

The Stags play at the Forest Area Invitational on Saturday before district play next week.

Forest Area beats McBain NMC twice

Sickness turned a tri-meet into a double dual as Forest Area picked up two wins over McBain NMC.

The Warriors (37-9-4) won the first match 25-13, 25-9 and the second 25-4, 25-21.

Katie Johnson had 26 assists, Mae Johnson had 11 kills, Chelsea Strine had eight kills and three aces, Addie Dutton had five kills, Rachel Daniels added eight assists while Savannah Daniels had five kills.
