Petoskey soccer blanks Lapeer East

SAGINAW -- Senior Michael Swabash scored all three goals Tuesday night as defending Division 2 state champion Petoskey defeated Lapeer East 3-0 in its regional opener.

Swabash staked the Northmen to a 2-0 lead at half. Petoskey controlled play most of the game.

The Northmen will play for the regional title Thursday.

The Division 3 regional at Elk Rapids gets underway tonight. Newaygo faces Reed City at 5 p.m. Charlevoix takes on Tawas at 7. The championship game will be Friday.
