TRAVERSE CITY -- Already the member of three Halls of Fame, Bob Lober will make it 'fore' next summer.

Lober, former golf coach at Traverse City Central and current executive director of the Traverse City Junior Golf Association, will be inducted into the National High School Athletic Coaches Association Hall of Fame next summer.

"How cool is that?" Lober asked. "It's going to be pretty special."

Lober, who coached the boys team at TC Central for 22 seasons in addition to founding and coaching the girls team for seven, will be inducted into the NHSACA Hall of Fame during the group's national convention in Minneapolis June 20-24, 2009.

Lober was inducted into the Michigan Interscholastic Golf Coaches Association Hall of Fame in 1983 and the Michigan High School Coaches Association Hall of Fame in 2006. In between, Lober was inducted into the TC Central Hall in 2005.

"All of them have been a treat, they really have," said Lober, who just gave up his post as executive director of the MIGCA in May after 13 years. "It's special to be recognized by your peers for working with young people."

Lober continues to work with young golfers through the TCJGA, which celebrates its 25th anniversary with a tournament and dinner on Aug. 2.
