TC West tennis 4th in Holly Invitational

HOLLY -- Traverse City West came back from the Holly Invitational with a fourth-place finish on Saturday.

The Titans tennis team finished behind Midland Dow, Okemos and Grand Blanc. Holly and Mason placed fifth and sixth.

TC West had two flights that notched 2-1 marks.

At No. 2 singles, Jordan Davenport defeated Holly 6-2, 6-0 and won by default over Mason. Her only loss was to top-ranked Midland Dow (6-0, 6-2).

At No. 3 doubles, Kelley Robinson/Aria Jelinek lost early to Midland Dow (6-1, 6-3), but then defeated Mason (6-1, 6-2) and finished up with a win over Holly by the (6-4, 6-4).

The Titans host TC St. Francis on Tuesday, followed by regionals in Midland on Thursday.
