Editorial: Would-be legislators' quiz

This is a simple quiz to see if you have what it takes to serve in the Michigan Legislature.

Suppose Michigan has a small but successful robotics training program that is so good, Michigan schools have won six of the last seven titles in a national robotics competition.

You would:

A. Vote to increase funding for the program

B. Vote to end funding for the program

C. Pose for pictures with as many of the young robotics phenoms as possible and then vote to end funding

D. Miss the vote on funding.

If you chose A, you're obviously an MEA sympathizer; if you chose C, you could some day be Senate majority leader; if you chose D, you're probably term limited and don't give a hoot.

The choice Michigan's current crop of lawmakers made last month was, of course, B, to end funding.
