Bellaire Lioness Club sells cookies

Bellaire — Decorated holiday cookies and other confections can be purchased at the Bellaire Lioness Club's annual Cookie Sale By-The-Pound.

The sale will be held from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Dec. 4, at the Bellaire Senior Center, 308 E. Cayuga. The cost is $6.50 a pound, and proceeds benefit local charitable projects.

Sons of Norway plan holiday party

suttons Bay — The community is welcome to join the Sons of Norway Christian Radich Lodge at its annual Christmas party. Reservations are due Thursday, Dec. 2.

The party will be held Tuesday, Dec. 7, at the Village Inn, 201 N. St. Joseph St. A cash bar will open at 5:30 p.m. The cost is $20 per person, and there will be a $5 gift exchange for anyone who wishes to participate.

AngelWorks Yule tree fundraiser

Traverse City — AngelWorks, formerly the Angel Foundation, will sell Christmas trees to help working parents with child-care costs.

AngelWorks is a nonprofit organization that supports quality child care. In 2010 it helped more than 65 families afford quality child care. All proceeds from the tree sale will go to help working parents with child care, or to support parents who lose DHS assistance due to pay increases or promotions that push them over the eligibility threshold.

The trees will be sold for $30 each at the AngelWorks tree lot on the corner of Eighth and Union streets. Sale hours are 4 to 8 p.m. Fridays, Dec. 3 and 10; 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturdays, Dec. 4 and 11; noon to 5 p.m. Sundays, Dec. 5 and 12; and 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 9.
