Republican Women host GOP candidate

Frankfort — Ray Franz, Republican candidate for state representative for the area, will speak at the Monday, Nov. 1, educational outreach luncheon meeting of the Republican Women of Benzie County.

Reservations are due Thursday, Oct. 28, for the luncheon, which will start at 11:30 a.m. at the Betsie Bay Inn on Main Street. In addition to Franz, a representative from Benzie County's medical care facility, The Maples, will briefly explain the two millage questions on the ballot regarding the facility.

The public is invited and the $13 cost will be collected at the door. For reservations, call 882-7179 and leave a message.

Fall Kidz Fest at Revival Center

Cadillac — The Revival Center Church will host a free Fall Kidz Fest for families on Saturday, Oct. 30.

The event will be held from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the church, 984 Plett Road. There will be hayrides, carnival games, cake walks, door prizes, pumpkins and more. Four bikes, an Ipod, an MP3 player and other prizes will be given away throughout the afternoon. For details, call 775-2662.

Public invited to garden club meeting

Rapid City — The public is invited to the Tuesday, Nov. 2, meeting of the Juniper Garden Club.

The group will meet at the Little Red School House on River Street for socializing at 12:30 p.m. Connie Garcia and friends will present a "Making Ornaments from Nature" make and take project at 1 p.m. Call 322-9901 to learn more.
