Air Force Airman 1st Class Lisa Glynn graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. She earned distinction as an honor graduate. Glynn is the daughter of Dawn Fant, of Central Lake. The airman graduated in 2002 from Central Lake High School and earned an associate's degree in 2004 from Northwestern Michigan College.

Eric Harm has joined the Michigan Army National Guard Active First Program and is assigned as a truck driver. Harm is a 2007 Benzie Central High School graduate and will be attending basic training at Fort Leonardwood, Mo. Harm is the son of Penny Cox and Eric Harm, of Traverse City.

Staff Sergeant Donald Weathers, son of Donna Bembeneck, of Traverse City, and Jack Weathers, was selected from nearly 6,000 Airmen as the 60th Air Mobility Wing's Warrior of the Week, recognizing the week's top enlisted performer for their dedication to air mobility. Weathers is stationed at Travis Air Force Base, Calif. Weathers graduated in 1994 from the Traverse City Career Tech Center.
