Proposal to create jobs

Republicans and conservatives should rally to support Proposal 3. It sets the goal of diversifying 25 percent of Michigan's electricity.

A Michigan State University study projects 94,000 new jobs will be created. In Illinois, where the 25 percent goal was set in 2007, clean energy is the top sector for job creation this year.

Michigan has the manufacturing capacity and human resources to become the global arsenal of clean energy.

This as good as it gets for Republicans. Set the goal, then let the free market decide how to achieve it.

And we create nearly 100,000 jobs.
