Couldn’t agree more
I wasn’t surprised when I read that Ross Richardson was one of three candidates endorsed by my hometown newspaper.
I remember the Record-Eagle also endorsed him during his three races for County Commission (two were successful), and last year called Ross “a thoughtful, studious sort who’s well-versed on local issues, isn’t afraid to challenge the status quo and has shown a penchant for standing up for programs that benefit senior citizens.”
Well, I’m a senior citizen, and I couldn’t agree more. Join me in voting for Ross Richardson for City Commissioner.
Rebuild sorely needed
Join me in supporting our children and investing in our community’s future by voting “yes” on the Traverse City Area Public Schools bond proposals.
My son is a first-grader at one of the schools with cold classrooms mentioned in a recent story. The school is 50 years old, has many outdated systems (including its boilers), and students often have art and music classes in the hallways.
If the bonds pass, our school will get the rebuild it sorely needs. If the bonds do not pass, money for building upkeep will come from classroom funds. Our children deserve better.
A clear thinker
I am writing in support of Tim Werner for Traverse City Commission. He is well known to me since moving to the city 13 years ago. He is a scientist, engineer, and a clear thinker with common sense. He is a problem solver and will analyze issues in a systematic manner to arrive at solutions that will be of benefit to our community for the present and the future. He understands business, our environment, and most importantly, human nature.
He would be a great asset to the Commission, and I urge you to support him with your vote.

An independent thinker
Ross Richardson would make an excellent addition to the city commission. He has a comprehensive understanding of a broad range of city issues and he has a sincere interest in community service. He is intelligent, articulate and an independent thinker.
I highly recommend that city residents vote for Ross Richardson for City Commission.
Has common sense
I’m writing to endorse Ross Richardson for City Commissioner. I have come to know Ross over the past few years as a Grand Traverse County Commissioner and fellow board member of the Northwest Michigan Community Action Agency. Through his role as a NMCAA board member, Ross has shown a genuine concern to help others improve their quality of life. A person of Ross’ demonstrated and committed character to the people he serves would be a true asset to the people of Traverse City in representing them as their City Commissioner.
Asks hard questions
I am writing to offer my support for Tim Werner for Traverse City Commission. Tim loves to dig into vexing problems and find solutions that benefit the most people. He asks hard questions, and does not accept simplistic answers. He likes to look at the big picture and how an individual piece interacts with the whole. Tim wants Traverse City to be a great place to raise a family now, and in the future. Don’t take my word for it, check out his blog
A good voice
I am voting for Tim Werner for City Commission and I encourage others to vote for him, too. He is a quiet leader actively dedicated to things that matter in our community, anxious to make things happen and is willing to address difficult issues effectively like TIF II expiration and making sure we in the city get our share of county funds. It is time to have this discussion.
He is lucid and would bring a good voice and a good brain to our commission. Give him a chance. Join me in my support of Tim Werner for City Commission.
I have known Tim Werner for nine years. As his neighbor and alleymate I have watched Tim, his family and children grow into an outstanding family. Community minded and active, I see Tim and his family riding their bikes all over the city. Tim has helped me many times: watching my home when I’m away; and assisting me when my dog passed away. I think Tim would be a positive asset because of his family values and love of Traverse City.
