Time to be reasonable

The time has come to be fair and reasonable regarding one of this city’s long-term employers, Gourdie-Fraser. As someone who has direct and firsthand knowledge of the Septage Plant project I saw the Gourdie-Fraser-Christman team step up, take responsibility for and eventually remedy the construction problems with the plant construction. They immediately identified the cause of the wall collapse (someone neglected to follow engineered drawings) and as project managers accepted the ultimate responsibility for rectifying the problem. They were professional in every sense of the word in their response to the problems. They have paid the price for those mistakes and it’s time to move on.

Thank you to the township supervisors for recognizing Gourdie-Fraser as a capable and professional engineering firm that deserved to be included in the bidding process for county engineering services. They won the bid in a fair and impartial process and deserve the chance to perform under the scope of that contract. All the rest of this diatribe is just uninformed noise.

Big time in the USA

April 1, 2014: The United States of America has a semblance of “Of the people, by the people, and for the people.”

April 2, 2014: The United States of America …. “Of big business and wealthy individuals, by big business and wealthy individuals, and for big business and wealthy individuals.”

And we let them do it.
