Keep a clear head

“It’s part of a drive to “create chaos,” boasted Tim Beck, co-founder of the Safer Michigan Coalition that provided funding and consulting services to the marijuana initiatives across the state, when asked about the petition drive to get legalization on the ballot in Benzie County.

The coalition’s strategy is to win total decriminalization in reluctant states like Michigan by picking off communities one by one.

Push and nudge and depend on peer pressure to intimidate, bully and eventually bulldoze their decades-long longing to have everyone happily — high.

C’mon, everybody’s doing it!

Something that isn’t mentioned is that it’s also a big Democrat initiative to get their unenthusiastic voters out to the polls this November.

With Obamacare being not quite the spectacular draw it was expected and folks still feeling pretty lousy when trying to stretch their paychecks from week to week, plus the laundry list of national scandals still rocking the administration, the Dems are sitting at the bottom of a big ol’ abyss and their base voters are expected to pretty much stay home.

Unless — there’s something that’ll get em’ down to the precincts.

Keep a clear head, folks.

The gates of Hades have opened. If Mike Nolan’s schedule holds up, this fall all of Traverse City will dwell in a smoky hell, or so the Record-Eagle would have us believe.

You suggest a loophole? Nothing could be further from the truth. Mike Nolan had both the wisdom and foresight to obtain a cigar bar license allowing him, under the laws of the State of Michigan, to legally operate a retail premium cigar outlet that serves liquor. Nolan simply applied for a liquor license as did all the businesses in Traverse City that sell liquor.
