No charge to you?

On my monthly bill from Charter Communications in the section “Charter News,” it says, “Welcome to bigger, faster, more powerful world! Your services have been upgraded to the new Charter Spectrum at no cost to you. Watch over 200 available HD …” etc.

What they didn’t say was, to watch any TV in your home you must have a digital box for each TV at a cost of $7 a month for each TV, plus any older TV won’t work with Charter’s new system.

One friend said, “Our bill got to be over $200 for TV, internet and phone. We have TVs in guest rooms not being able to use due to having to pay $7 a month for a box. Plus any of our older TVs won’t work with Charters new system.”

Also, be very careful when the customer tech representative offers to send a service tech to your home at no expense to you. If the service tech determines the problem might be with your equipment, be prepared to pay a “service charge” on your next bill.

I always thought that “no charge or cost to you” meant no charge or cost to you. Am I missing something here?
