We think we’re in charge

Hopefully the U.S. is not killing any “enemies” right now, but our Navy is indeed killing whales, wholesale and unnecessarily, with Naval knowledge and admittance. They plan to blast waters in both the Atlantic and Pacific with deafening sonar up to 236 decibels for a total of nearly 300,000 hours of continuous noise.

Such continuous sound causes internal organs in mammals to hemorrhage. Plus, plans are for a million underwater explosions (every two minutes for the next five years). Such ongoing activities explain the alarming decline in beaked whale populations. Also blue whales are endangered.

The Navy Department has enormous deference in U.S. courts. We have to speak up to force the Navy to set aside the most critical habitats for whale and other marine animals.

We humans think we are in charge of this world and can run it as we please. Humph!

Write your Congress persons and President Obama in protest.
