n To the Third Level Crisis Intervention Center which for decades provided a 24-hour suicide and prevention services hotline and provided free legal aid, Pete’s Shellter for homeless youth, outreach to high-risk and homeless teens and a program for gay and lesbian youth.Third Level has dissolved as a nonprofit organization and has been absorbed by Child and Family Services of Northwestern Michigan. Third Level was one of the region’s pioneering nonprofits.

n To soprano Marin Tack and baritone Logan Dell’Acqua, both seniors at Traverse City Central High School, soprano Sage DeAgro-Ruopp, a senior at Interlochen Arts Academy, and soprano Ella Bruining, a senior at Traverse City West Senior High, who are four of 10 finalists in Michigan in the 20th Italian Songs and Arias Vocal Competition for Michigan High School Students sponsored by the Verdi Opera Theatre of Michigan.The next step is the “Concert of the Finalists” May 4 at the Italian-American Cultural Center of Clinton Township.

n To Fife Lake and Traverse City for landing more than $2.6 million in grants to assess, map and prepare a plan of improvement for stormwater and sanitary sewer collection systems. The awards are part of $97 million from the state.Traverse City was among eight communities to receive the full $2 million maximum award. The Fife Lake Area Utility Authority won a $651,643 grant to assess its sewage collection system.

n To the Children’s House Montessori school for a plan to expand its educational programs to include seventh- and eighth-grade students. The school currently offers classed for infants through sixth grade. The Children’s House has been growing since it was founded 30 years ago. It began with one preschool and one toddler classroom and now enrolls more than 240 students at its 8-acre campus on North Long Lake Road in Grand Traverse County.
