Get it done

Random thoughts:

For all those tasks that require city funds such as downtown trash pick-up, beach and park clean-up, public restroom maintenance, life guards at the beaches, water testing, city sidewalks, etc., there is an untapped revenue stream available. Isn’t it about time to levy a tax on every motel and hotel stay in the area and have our gracious guests contribute to keeping our area well maintained? That’s why they come here. And for the hotel/motel lobbyists who will claim that this will keep visitors away, get serious. Rather than taking a negative approach, figure a way to “get it done.”

And, for the Record-Eagle, it certainly is your choice to publish articles detailing the continuing saga of Cynthia Stowe’s life. But must you always refer to her as “ex-wife of the former Grand Traverse County Probate Judge, David Stowe?” Give it a rest, let the man be.
