Who gave the OK?
Gazebogate: The next question.
Who authorized a work crew from the county jail to move the gazebo from its original location to the private residence of Garfield Township's planner?

Downsize government
Is it just me or is it about time to do away with costly, corrupt township government and go with a county-seat type of local government. It just seems that a central, professional, local county government would be a better way to spend our hard-earned money with fewer "agenda-minded" people running things into the ground.

Impeach the president
On June 14 the steering committee of the Leelanau County Democratic Party passed a motion expressing strong support for the impeachment of President George Bush and forwarded this to the speaker and the judiciary committee, urging immediate hearings.
Some say there's no time for impeachment. Elizabeth Holtzmann, a member of Nixon's impeachment committee, says the total time from the start to his resignation was three months. One month was for preparations by the judiciary committee. Unnecessary this time; Conyers already wrote the book. (Nixon was never convicted -- he resigned from the shame of this exposure and his looming conviction.)
Others have said we should just wait it out and he'll be gone. Yes, but, look at the legacy we leave for the next administration and our children: arrogant signing statements, illegal invasions and declarations of war, unconstitutional wiretapping, violations of treaties, contempt by our allies, shattered relations with other nations, massive debt, thousands dead or starving, and maybe an attack on Iran ...
Can we leave this legacy intact? Can such acts go unpunished? Will these criminals be prosecuted after they leave? Not likely.
Impeachment is the only constitutionally mandated action. Let's get on with it! Impeach now -- prosecute later!
