INTERLOCHEN — Earl L. Rayner, of Interlochen, 79, passed away peacefully at his home, July 26, 2013 with his family by his side. He was born Jan. 21, 1934. He was educated through the Honor School system.
Early on he signed with the U.S. Navy and faithfully served our country for six years during the Korean War. Earl recently shared the ports visited while enlisted. After his discharge he worked for the Ann Arbor Car ferries, Pet Milk, State Fish Hatchery and Sara Lee.
He married Alberta L. Storrs (affectionately known as “Bert”) on Dec. 4, 1970 and lived happily together enjoying life and spending time with family and friends.
He is survived by his brothers, Robert R. and Dan (Karen); sisters, Ethel (Rayner) Dahms, Donna (Bill) Drablowski, Karlin (Leonard) Cory and Betty (Dick) Robotham; brother-in-law, Doug (Wilma) Storrs and their family; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Earl was preceded in death by his wife, Bert; sister, Norma J. Robertson and brother in law, Walter Thomas Dahms.
At Earl’s request cremation has taken place and will be placed at the site of his beloved wife. Please join us to celebrate Earl’s life at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 3 at Eden Bible Church, with Pastor Dan Ingersoll officiating. Memorials may be made to Munson Home Hospice or Eden Bible Church.
