KALKASKA — Katharine “Katie” Rose Waldron, 24, of Kalkaska, died unexpectedly on Monday, Nov. 4, 2013. She was born in Traverse City on Jan. 26, 1989, the daughter of Howard “Andy” Jr. and Theresa “Terri” (Hay) Waldron.
Katie graduated as the valedictorian of her class at Kalkaska High School. She went on to get her associate’s degree from Northwestern Michigan College, graduating Summa Cum Laude, and continued her studies in accounting at Ferris State University.
Katie was often described as smart, creative, talented, beautiful, having a great sense of humor and being adventurous. She enjoyed so many different activities, from drama, theater and writing, to camping, fishing, hiking and hunting.
Katie will be forever missed and remembered by her mother, Terri; brother, Andrew (Stephanie Macomber); and many aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, teachers and co-workers.
She was preceded in death by her father, Andy Waldron in 2012; and her grandparents.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m., with the family to begin receiving friends at noon, on Friday, Nov. 8, 2013, in the Chapel of Kalkaska Funeral Home, 152 S. Cedar St., Kalkaska.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Katie’s honor to her family or to a charity of your choice.
