TRAVERSE CITY — Delphine H. Chmielewski, of Traverse City, entered into rest Nov. 4, 2013, at the age of 81. She was born Dec. 26, 1931, in Detroit, to Thomas and Clara (Bushman) Mack. Delphine married Robert E. Chmielewski on Sept. 4, 1948, and moved to the South Boardman area shortly after.
She worked as an accountant for over 30 years for various employers and retired from Northwest Community Mental Health in the mid ’90s.
Delphine and Robert loved to travel and were able to visit many different states while enjoying their retirement years, but most of all Delphine loved to spend as much time as she could with her family, especially the grandkids and great-grandchildren.
Delphine was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; son, Todd; brother, Rob James Mack; and her parents.
She is survived by her sons, Craig (Deborah) Chmielewski and Mark (Pam) Chmielewski, of Traverse City; daughters, Kim (Jeff) Schichtel, of Traverse City, and MaryAnn (William) Sorvisto, of Hancock; grandchildren, Lynda (William) Freet, Lisa (William) Sutton, Larissa (Michael) Ellis, Michelle (James) Dittmar, Jennifer and Jason North, David (Heather) Chmielewski, Daniel (Heather) Chmielewski, Jeremy and Ashley Sorvisto; and 17 great-grandchildren.
Delphine will be interred with her husband in South Boardman Cemetery. A memorial service will be held this spring.
