SOUTH BOARDMAN — Dickie Joe Borgen, age 76, of South Boardman, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2013. He was born on Sept. 20, 1937, in Kalkaska, to the late Richard and Minnie (Ludlow) Borgen.
He served his country as member of the United States Army as a combat engineer in Germany from 1961 to 1963.
Dickie Joe worked as a mechanic most of his life. He also worked at Corning Glass and in the lumbering industry.
He was a member of the New Horizon’s Clubhouse, the Moose Lodge and Eagles Club in Albion, and the Evergreen Bible Baptist Church.
Dickie Joe is survived by his dear brothers and sisters, John Borgen, of Ontonagon, Goldie (Wilho) Aho, of Ontonagon, Rolene Holt, of California, Mary (Joe) Leu, of Mass City, Doyle (Barbara) Borgen, of Fife Lake, Charles (Carol) Borgen, of South Boardman, Kenny (Gloria) Borgen, of Kalkaska, Ursal (Marvin) Clay, of Fife Lake, and Josie (Ronald) Clay, of Fife Lake.
Funeral services will be today at 11 a.m. at the Evergreen Bible Baptist Church, with Pastor Wm. Kuiper officiating. A graveside service will follow at Lodi Cemetery.
