TRAVERSE CITY — Daniel A. Bugai, 62, of Cedar and Traverse City, was welcomed into God’s hands, the best place to be, on Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2013. Dan was born on Oct. 25, 1950, the son of Alois “Bush” and Audrey (Couturier) Bugai.
Dan graduated from Glen Lake School in 1968 then was stationed in Germany as a Military Policeman for the United States Army.
Dan was employed by Lear, formerly Essex Wire, for over 30 years until they closed. He then went to work at Sara Lee.
He was a history buff and enjoyed watching sports and documentaries. Dan was a caring son who enjoyed spending time in nature. Dan was an avid trout fisherman and knew the Cedar swamps like the back of his hand.
Dan is survived by his mother, Audrey Bugai; siblings, Tom Bugai, Debbie Bugai and David (Jean Dwyer) Bugai; nephews and niece, Jeffrey Bugai, Molly Bugai, Chad (Sandy Ho) Ward and Clint (Tanelle) Ward; several uncles and aunts; and dozens and dozens of cousins.
Preceding Dan in death were his father, Alois Bugai; and sister, Becky Ward.
A memorial gathering will be held on Sunday, Sept. 15, 2013, from 2 to 4 p.m., at Covell Funeral Home in Traverse City.
