---- — FRANKFORT — Eugene Arthur MacKenzie, 83, of Frankfort, died Sunday, July 28, 2013, at home. He was born April 20, 1930, in Eaton Rapids, the son of Henry and Edith (Hawkins) MacKenzie.
Eugene retired from General Motors where he worked at the Fisher Body Plant in Lansing. In his spare time, Eugene enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and playing games with his family and friends. Most of all, Eugene loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Eugene was a member of the Eden Bible Church, in Beulah.
Eugene is survived by his wife, Leila Ellen MacKenzie; his daughters, Sandra MacKenzie of Calif., and Robin MacKenzie of Fife Lake; two grandchildren, Misty MacKenzie-Miley, and Tyler MacKenzie-Martin; three great-grandchildren, Joshua Miner, Elliana MacKenzie and Emmalea MacKenzie; his brother, Robert MacKenzie of Hastings; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Eugene was preceded in death by his parents, seven sisters and one brother.
Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 1, 2013, at Eden Bible Church, in Beulah, with Pastor Dan Ingersoll officiating. The family will receive friends from noon until the time of services, Thursday, at the church.
