BUCKLEY — Mary Philo, 70, of Buckley, passed away at home on May 16, 2013. She was born to Jerry Brow and Mary Lake on Aug. 24, 1942, in Traverse City.
Mary married Donald Philo on May 22, 1976. For many years, she worked as a nurse’s aide at Birchwood Nursing Center in Traverse City. In her free time she enjoyed gardening flowers, and camping. She could cook anything, and drive anything. Mary was a very generous woman, always giving to those in need.
Mary is survived by her husband, Donald; children, Blaine (Jenny) Chappel, Corinna O’Connor, and Penny (Donald) Leach, Pamela (Gary) Duff; stepdaughters, Jody Stafford, Lori Robertson, and Debbie Rice; stepsons, Raymond and Mike Philo; 28 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and siblings, Brenda Hadden and Jerry Brow.
She was preceded in death by her parents; stepfather, John Lake Sr.; brother, John Lake Jr.; and sisters, Linda Meteer and Terry Mallory.
Visitation will be held on Monday, May 20, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Covell Funeral Home in Kingsley, where a funeral service will be held on the same day at 1 p.m. A luncheon will follow graveside service at the Nazarene Church, 10047 Faith Dr., Buckley 49620.
