---- — COPEMISH — Alice Elaine Scarbrough, 85, of Copemish, died Wednesday, May 8, 2013, at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born Nov. 11, 1927, in Copemish, the daughter of Charles and Bertha (Rinard) Cribbs.
Alice was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother who enjoyed playing cards, reading, solving crossword puzzles, traveling and flowers. Most of all, Alice loved spending time with her family and especially enjoyed going to watch sporting events of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Alice was a life member of the Read-Osborne American Legion Post Ladies Auxiliary in Copemish.
Alice is survived by four children, Richard (Dora) Scarbrough, of Coopersville, Sharon (Earl) Witkop, of Copemish, Sam (Patti) Scarbrough, of Thompsonville, and Linda Scarbrough, of New Paris, Ind.; nine grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Alice was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Scarbrough in 1992; her son, Robert Scarbrough in 1985; her brothers, Charles and Cecil; and her sisters, Maxine, Isabelle, Elois and Audrey.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 11, 2013, at the Terwilliger Funeral Home in Kaleva, with Dr. Paul Hammer officiating. Interment will follow in the Cleon Township Cemetery. Visitation will be held Saturday from noon until time of services at the funeral home.
