Beatrice Isabel Pickard, 86, of Traverse City, passed away Monday, Oct. 22, 2012, at Bortz Health Care in Traverse City, with her loving family nearby.
Beatrice was born on Feb. 1, 1926, in Traverse City, to the late Adolph and Louise (Hendges) Lautner. On June 6, 1945, she married Kenneth S. Pickard, who preceded her in death in 1983.
Beatrice was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and enjoyed reading, crocheting and riding snow machines.
She retired from Burwood Products in 1988, where she worked as a finish paint sprayer.
Surviving Beatrice is her brother, Lennard (Carol) Lautner; sister, Arlene Hahnenberg, of Traverse City; along with many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Roy and Wilbert; sisters, Irene Skiver, Pearl Haywood and Doris Kevwitch; her nephews, Charles Haywood and Ron Lautner; and niece, June Waslawski.
Visitation for friends and family will be held from 6 until 8 p.m., with a recitation of the rosary at 7 p.m., today, Oct. 25, 2012, at Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home. A memorial Mass will be held in Beatrice's honor at 11 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 26, 2012, at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, with the Rev. James Hayden officiating. Burial will be in Grand Traverse Memorial Gardens.
Memorial contributions in Beatrice's memory may be directed to Immaculate Conception Catholic Church or Hospice of Michigan.
