KINGSLEY — Robert U. "Bob" Knight of Kingsley passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2012, at his home. He was born on Feb. 4, 1942, in Flint to the late Fred and Ruth (Johnson) Knight.
Bob married Margaret "Peg" Houghton on Sept. 4, 1971. He worked for Ameel Distributing in Traverse City for years and at the time of his retirement he was working for Cox Distributing. Bob enjoyed hunting and woodworking. He will be missed by all those who knew and loved him.
Surviving Bob are his sons, Scott (Sue) Knight and Chris Knight, both of Traverse City; stepchildren, Bethany Barnes of Massachusetts and Scott (Debbie) Barnes of Kingsley; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; his sisters, Betty Wegner and Sadie (Ross) Jonston, both of Ohio; brothers-in-law, Mick (Freda) Houghton and Charlie Frye; and sisters-in-law, Ruth (Charlie) Stevens and Susan Morgan; and many nieces and nephews.
Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Peg in 2011; and his brother, Jim.
A memorial luncheon will be held on Saturday, Oct. 27, at 1 p.m. at the Fife Lake American Legion Post 219.
