WILLIAMSBURG — Mark Anthony Poley, 54, of Williamsburg, died suddenly at home on Oct. 13, 2012.

He was born Feb. 26, 1958, in Pennsylvania, to Dorothy and Robert Poley. He married his wife, Shelly, on Aug. 2, 1996.

He worked for Wannigan builders for several years, then he spent 13 years working for his longtime friend, Jay Merchant at Merchant Builders. He was a hard-working and devoted employee. His most recent employment was at Tom's Food Market, Acme, where he became quick friends with all his coworkers.

Mark's passions were woodworking, camping, tinkering in his pole barn and feeding his birds.

He is survived by his wife, Shelly Poley; a son, Jared; adored stepdaughters, Cassey and Jade Jacobson; special foster sister-in-law, Jenny Dean-Miller (Bob) and their son, Trey, Ellen Leone Ostlund (John), Dennis Dean (Barb), and the whole Dean family.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and stepdaughter, Chantal Rose Jacobson.

A small service for family and friends will be held at Jay Merchant Builders/ER Rentals, 8692 Cairn Highway, Elk Rapids, on Saturday, Oct. 20, at 2 p.m.
