FIFE LAKE — Nancy Belle Ricketts, 71, of Fife Lake, passed away peacefully at her home in Fife Lake on Jan. 16, 2014. She was born in Southgate on Aug. 9, 1942, to the late Otha and Della Harris. She graduated from Lincoln High School in 1962. She married Ronald Ricketts and moved to Fife Lake with their three children in 1973.
Nancy loved the outdoors, playing softball, taking road trips, and playing pool. Camping with Ron and the kids at Spring Lake and having the whole family over for holidays and playing cards were her favorite things to do. She was not fond of being on the water, but could sit on the shoreline watching it flow for hours on end. Nancy loved staying home raising her children and the many pets that grew up under her care. She attended NMC after being laid off from Wayne Wire and she was so proud when she completed all her courses. She loved doing puzzles, crafts and reading books.
Nancy was preceded in death by both her parents; her oldest son, John; and her brothers, Jack and Mick.
She is survived by her son, James (Brenda) Ricketts; her daughter, Dawn Ricketts; grandsons, John and Sean Ricketts, Chris (Amy) Taykowski, David Kemeter, and Jacob Roberts; also her hearts adopted daughter Kaye Stocker, and son Michael Taylor. She is also survived by her furry and faithful friends, Storm. Alex, Kiki and Gus, who brought her great companionship and hours of love and affection.
