ELK RAPIDS — Patricia Galorneau, 81, of Elk Rapids, passed away on Jan. 14, 2014, at Munson Hospice House, Traverse City, with her loving husband at her side. She was born on March 16, 1932, in Wayne, Mich., the daughter of the late Mable and Harold Eminger.
Pat devoted her life to caring for her husband, kids, and grandkids; always putting them first before herself in any time of need. She was a homemaker who enjoyed reading, needlework, gardening, and socializing with family and friends. She performed numerous volunteer activities for Sacred Heart Church of Elk Rapids and was also a volunteer for the Father Fred Foundation.
Patricia is survived by her husband, Russel Galorneau; sister, Delores (Charles) Millard; daughters, Sharon (Jeff) Karns, Karon (Jerry) Thompson, Cindy (Robert Buck) DeMoore, and Lauren (Joseph) Giaimo; son, Russel (Michelle) Galorneau; and 10 grandchildren.
Besides her parents, Patricia was preceded in death by her first husband, Jim; son, James; four brothers and one sister.
Mass from the Order of Christian Funerals will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 18, 2014, with visitation one hour prior, at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church in Elk Rapids, with Rev. Robert J. Zuchowski presiding. Memorial contributions may be directed to Munson Hospice House, Munson Healthcare Regional Foundation, 210 Beaumont Place, Traverse City, MI 49684.
