---- — BENZONIA — Donald A. McMorris, better known as “Fuzz,” 70, of Beulah, died April 10, 2013, at Munson Medical Center.

He was born Nov. 10, 1942, in Flushing, the son of John David and Freda Dorothy (Briler) McMorris. Fuzz married Connie Sturm on Nov. 2, 1967.

He honorably served in the U.S. Navy during the Cuban Missile Crisis.

Fuzz worked 32 years at Buick in Flint, was a Local 599 Union Member and retired in 1994 as a fireman. He was an 18-year member of Mt. Morris Township Fire Department Station No 2.

He belonged to Benzie Masonic Lodge 444 after transferring from the Flint Masonic Lodge 23. He joined Elf Khurafeh Shrine in 1973, serving in the Military Patrol, then Oriental Band, and retired from his favorite group, The Clowns and “Nod.” He served the Honor Lions Club for 12 years, and the last five as “Tail Twister.”

He loved spending time with his two granddaughters and was very proud of their achievements.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Connie; daughter, Jade Adams and son-in-law, Steve Adams; granddaughters, April and Macy, all of Benzonia; sisters, Jackie (Steve) Chrenko, of Georgia, Frieda Worden, of New Lathrop, and Marge (David) Watkins, of Arizona; brother, John (Michelle) McMorris and Russell (Pegg) McMorris, of Tennessee; several nieces, nephews and close cousins; and beloved boxer, Bella.

He was preceded in death by daughter, Crystal Lynn McMorris; parents; and brother, David (Bud) McMorris.

Visitation will be Friday, April 26, from 5 to 8 p.m., with a memorial service at 7:30 p.m., at the Jowett Family Funeral Homes, Benzonia. A memorial service is scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday, April 27, at the funeral home. Pastor Barb Fay will officiate.

The family wishes to thank his doctors, nurses at Munson A4, Benzie EMS staff and the Palliative Health Care Team, especially Greta Peck and Paul Oliver Lab & IV Therapy.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Shriners Burn Unit, Gift of Life or Lions Club in Honor.
