---- — BEULAH — Robert “Bob” Lynn Rayle, 80, of Beulah, died Friday, April 19, 2013, after battling an extended illness. He was born Aug. 29, 1932, in Beulah, the son of Bert and Myrtle (Vincent) Rayle.
Bob was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and served his country honorably in the early 1950s.
Following his time in the service Bob went on to co-own and operate All Lakes Dock and Hoist with his brother-in-law, Don Andrews. He also founded Benzie Pumping Service. Bob and Don went on to found two more business in Beulah, Bob and Don’s Body Shop and B&D Manufacturing.
In his spare time, Bob loved to snowmobile, go on family camping trips and travel. Every year he looked forward to deer camp where he would hunt, play cards and spend time with the guys. He could often be found tinkering in his garage or racing go-carts or snowmobiles. He enjoyed fishing and loved to fish for king salmon on Lake Michigan in Frankfort. Most of all, Bob loved to spend time with his family, especially with his grandchildren.
On March 16, 1957, in Honor, Bob married Lorita Acha who survives him. He is also survived by his daughter, Lori (Frank) Addis, of Lake Ann; his grandchildren, Todd (Claire Kubinski), of Midland, and Ashley Addis, of Lake Ann and Ann Arbor; his brothers, William “Bill” Rayle, of Lake Ann, and Allen “Bud” (Marion) Rayle, of Traverse City and Florida; his sisters, Wilma Wright, of Grawn, Dorothy (Clyde) Bjorkman, of Pennsylvania, and Barbara Harvey, of Traverse City; his sister-in-law, Marilyn Rayle, of Troy; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Derryl, Larry and Donald Rayle; his nephews, Jerry and Larry Wright; his brothers-in-law, Forrest Wright and James Harvey; and his sister-in-law, Reatha Rayle.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, April 26, 2013, at the Lake Ann United Methodist Church in Lake Ann, with Pastor Devon Herrell officiating. Interment will take place in the Almira Township Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 25, 2013, at the Bennett-Barz Funeral Home in Beulah.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Lake Ann United Methodist Church or to the Veterans Memorial in the Almira Township Park.
