LELAND — Arleen Rae, 99, died peacefully at her home in Leland on April 7, 2013. Arleen was born on May 11, 1913, the daughter of Albert and Minnie (Hitchings) Werden.
Arleen was born and raised in Eaton Rapids and attended Michigan State University, where she was an English major.
She was a member of Christ Church Cranbrook in Bloomfield Hills and Leland United Methodist Church in Leland. Mrs. Rae was a member of The Village Club in Bloomfield Hills, the Traverse City Country Club and the Leland Country Club.
Mrs. Rae is survived by four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Nicholas Rakas, James Mitchell and James Rae, M.D.; and children, Linda Taber and Kent Rakas.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday, May 4, 2013, at 2 p.m., at Beechwood Cemetery, Leland.
